Well my first semester of college is coming to a close....I have three tests this week *BLARGH* One for psycho babble, if I don't get 89 or higher I am destined to live with the B mark on my forehead for the rest of my life. The second is a cumulative grammar test for English Comp. 50 QUESTIONS OF MEAN AND CRUEL GRAMMAR!!!!!!!!! Luckily, though, I can flunk it and still have an A...thats how good of a writer I am :p.

And lastly-the EVIL SAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tremble to think of it. I went to bed Saturday night after watching a movie. I lay back on my pillows ready to drink deep of the intoxicating pleasures of sleep. But suddenly my half dreaming state was jarred awake. The SAT was ONE week away! I actually gave myself a nightmare...I know I'm gonna flunk the math portion. I feel it in my bones. Prayers would doubtless be appreciated.

Well besides my impending tests not TOO too much has been going on. I ruined two friend's lives last night *wink, wink*, uploaded more to my story, followed a friend's blog, and am now preparing to babysit ^_^

5 more days to SAT, but then only a little more then a week after that ....
DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've decided to try my hand at blogging...not that anyone but myself will read it, lol! I have a feeling that the majority of my posts will be quite random, so if anyone is reading this be prepared ;). I just finished submitting the latest of my story, The Highwayman. Its a story inspired by the poem of the same name written by Alfred Noyes. I am absolutely in love with that poem! And the musical recording of it by Loreena Mckennitt! Some people develop celebrity crushes, well I get crushes on poems and stories...weird I know. Even more weird is that I fall in love with my own creation: David Lowe, the star of my story. He is just sooooo totally awesome, though I doubt anyone but myself will agree to that :p.

Ok, next topic...(I warned you that this would be random!)....I am about halfway through Red, the second book in the Circle Series by Ted Dekker. These books are really captivating my attention! The first book, Black, was an allegory about the fall of man. This next book, Red, LOOKS like it may be an allegory for the crucifixion. Not sure yet though! I have a contrary habit of falling in love with villains...this guy Justin is supposedly a bad guy, but I have an absurd little fancy for him...My favorite character besides him is Monique De Raison.

Next and last topic....I made a difference...or rather we made a difference! Did anyone ever imagine that a motley group of teens could have an impact on Charlie Crist????? Well we did! I am a part of a group called Conservative Christian Teens for America (CCTA) a teen political activism group. For a long time now we have been pushing for the Parental Rights Amendment, which is a proposed amendment to the constitution allowing for parents' rights to raise there own children. Believe it or not, these rights ARE threatened. The United Nations is pushing hard for a treaty, know as the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) which would basically make the government in charge of everything from childcare to education to discipline. Simply put, parents would have little to no say in their own children's lives. Crazy, I know. So needless to say CCTA has been working hard in a grassroots efforts to get our Florida legislature to sign onto a petition for the Parental Rights Amendment. The more states who support it, the more likely it will become a part of our constitution. Anyway, due to our efforts, our group was invited to lobby in Tallahassee for the Parental Rights Amendment. Two Senators and a Representative signed onto the bill, and we met with Charlie Crist. The sight of so many kids passionate about making a difference apparently floored him, and he agreed to support the Parental Notification Bill, which is a bill prohibiting minor aged girls from getting abortions without parental notification. And this bill got passed, all thanks to a few honest people's efforts. I am so stinkin' proud to have been a part of this effort, and I know we will continue to make even more difference in our state, and even our country. Three cheers for CCTA!!!!!!!
